Chapter 65
When Keith woke the next morning, the first thing he saw was his pants hanging on a mantelpiece. It must have landed there when he tossed it aside last night. He chuckled at the thought and glanced down at the woman who slept in his arms.
She was covered by his body and rather large wings.
Wings?!
His eyes widened as he took in the black, ruffled feathers that draped over Cassandra.
“Shit!” He swore, unfurling them and rising off the bed. He hovered in the air, staring at her, hoping she would not wake up.
She couldn’t see him like this! That meant he would have to do a lot of explanations he wasn’t ready to make!
When he was certain she wouldn’t wake up, he lowered himself to the ground and walked to her mirror. His eyes were dark as ever but had gold rims around them, making them glow eerily. His dark hair seemed longer, blending with the massive wings that sprung from behind his ears.
