Chapter 68
HYPNOS
“What is that supposed to mean?” Hypnos asked. He was confused. Terribly confused. Why did everything around seem to be shrouded in some mystery of some sort?
He watched his brother and mother share glances and growled low in his throat. “Just spit it out! How come Thanatos knows what you intend to tell me and I do not?! Do not play favorites, mother!”
“Do not tell me what I can or cannot do!” His mother snapped, her voice filling the whole area, sending a shudder down his spine. “If you’re going to address me that way, then your mortal may die for all I care!”
Pressing his lips into a thin line, Hypnos looked away. He had to keep his temper under check, or he could blow his one shot at saving Cassandra up, and shit would not be pretty.
Dread coursed through him. It wasn’t a feeling he felt often. A god had little things to be afraid of. But all the times he had felt afraid, nothing good had come out of it.
