Chapter 75. The War

Everyone got ready; those who had come with Red lined up. Red was at the edge of the wire fence, standing there looking out over the dark and foggy muddy field. She had calculated that her current position was the safest from mines.

"Don't make a sound; stroll and follow my lead," Red said.

The girl cocked the rifle, then Fiona climbed up the ladder and stood next to Red. "I'll go with you."

Just as Red was about to take a step, noises came from the other direction. Red looked down. Apparently, the Metaphysics were coming from the other direction, along with Aamon and his friends.

"Are you crazy?!" shouted Sethi.

Red just stared at Sethi, unmoved.

"There's an enemy up ahead! If you rush up there, they'll fight back, and we'll have nothing! Do us no harm!"

"This is the only way. Keep going," Red replied.

"You want to follow that reckless girl?" Sethi pointed out. "As you wish! I hope you all do not die in vain!"
