Chapter 78. The Slaughter
"Those who don't get a flag will be eliminated. The decision is yours, Leader."
It felt like Red was about to collapse. "No!!! Noooo!"
The holographic screen disappeared, and then Red's body was dragged onto the terrace of the building, and she was forced to sit on a chair by Troy. The gate was opened, and people were ordered to drop their guns by the Troy. Some called to do so and entered, and the gate was closed again.
A line of about a hundred people moved forward. The rest waited impatiently, not knowing what was happening behind the closed gates. Ingo and Child came from inside the building, carrying boxes—twenty to be exact—of gold-coloured flags, which they lined up next to Red.
"Choose wisely, Leader," Ingo said.
"I can't." Red shook his head in frustration. "I don't want to."
"Choose those who are worthy, Leader," Child added.
Red stirred from her seat, picking up the pile of flags. The girl burst into tears as she handed the flags
