Chapter 6
"What do you mean?" she asked him with wide eyes.
"Nevermind," he said with a shrug. "It's nothing,"
She turned to her desk and began typing on her keyboard furiously. Her eyes were locked on the computer screen while typing and occasionally blinked rapidly to keep them open.
He took this as an invitation to leave, but he sat on the chair across from her and watched her work instead.
She wasn't one of those people who always seemed to be doing everything at once, and she never seemed particularly focused at work.
But now her brows were furrowed, and her tongue was sticking out of her lips.
Her glasses slipped off her nose a few times, but she didn't seem to notice because every time his eyes blinked, she rubbed them with the edge of her shirt sleeve.
She was making no real progress, so he finally spoke again.
"Are you all right?" he asked. "You don't look very well,"
