Chapter 53. In Custody
Isaac wriggled until his spine creaked softly, and he felt pain all over his body. But he couldn't sleep at all. He turned to Elijah, who was curled up next to him, while on the opposite bed, Jacob just wandered around, leaning his back against the wall.
"Can't sleep?" Jacob asked.
"You figure it out. After what you did to us."
"I'm telling the truth."
Jacob was questioned by Gideon about everything that had happened. But he remained silent about the location of the Twin Falls camp. The man simply explained that last night was a coincidence.
That he and the other rebels had left the camp to scour the area for food and supplies. They had been on the road for two days and were about to return to the camp.
