Emery’s POV

I feel like a frozen doll. Helpless and full of self-pity. This isn’t the first time I’ve felt this but this is the most painful. I feel like I wasn’t only betrayed. I was shot on the back helplessly.

Tristan balled his fists and stared into my eyes. “You’ve met her?”

I shook my head as I felt bitterness in my heart. We haven’t met but I feel like I already lost the fight. I’m a fighter but I can’t find my fighting spirit. What I saw was too painful. Especially that I know it’s her. She was the one he’s supposed to marry.
