The car was filled with a tension that I could not explain. The air was thick and as I looked at the CEO for him to explain himself, I found myself holding my breath.

“Um…” he chuckled dryly as he ran his hand through his perfect hair. “You’re right, there is a chest in one of the rooms back at the mansion. And in it, are the bones of Grace’s parents that I killed.”

I let go of the breath I was taking and focused fully on him. “But why? Why are you keeping them?”

“It’s complicated,” He replied without missing a beat as he looked away. 

“Make it less complicated. I want to know, Bradley. If you want me to trust you, then I need to know. You always call me your soulmate, so prove it. You wouldn’t want to hide anything from the one person you want to spend the rest of your life with, right?”
