He chuckled. “Are you okay?” Then he broke the hug.
I pulled away too and breathed out a deep breath. “Not really, but I will be fine.” I flashed him a smile.
“What was that for?” He was talking about the hug.
“The hug? I don’t know, I just felt like hugging you, I guess. And seeing the nightclub finally coming to life makes me feel happy. At least our hard work and everything else was not in vain, was it?”
He stared at me for a few seconds before a sad smile corrupted his lips. “It was not, but still, if all of these sick things had to happen just so I could get my nightclub built, then I don’t think it’s worth it.” He shook his head.
