Chapter 121. Arrested

“Arrested?” My grip on the colorless phone got tighter and I breathed deeply. “What do you mean by you have been arrested? What did you do?” 

“I swear, I didn’t do anything. They—they set me up! Somebody set me up!” He sounded frantic and very nervous. 

“Okay, calm down. Where are you and what are the charges?” I was nervous too and my heart was thumping in my chest but I made sure to try my best to keep calm. 

“They’re holding me at the police station and I was allowed to make one call.”

“Why didn’t you call your lawyer, Mark?” 

“I—I don’t know! You were the first person to come to my mind!” He was now breathing deeply.
