“Who is it?” Mark asked as he walked towards the bed and sat on the edge, proceeding to put on his shoes. 

I didn’t answer him because I was really trying to control the anger that was rising in me. “Who do you think you’re talking to like that?”

“Well, I hope so because you do know that it’s me that’s doing you a favor; not the other way around.” 

He chuckled some more. “I know, Lisa. Relax, I said I was joking.” He sighed. “Anyway, when will you be back?”

I took in a deep breath and let it out so that the annoyance could wither away. “Soon. Maybe by noon. You have work today, right?”

“That’s good. I will have them prepare something for you to eat. And yes, I have work today, I will probably be there for a while so don’t wait for me.”
