Chapter 91. Blanked

I barely heard the rest of the conversation as my mind spiraled. Memories of my grandmother flooded back, and I felt a lump in my throat. The room seemed to blur around me, and I struggled to stay present. 

I knew that I should have, Josh was only trying to help but I could not. You see, this was why I believed that I needed a therapist. I had not really processed these things and they were going to continue to kick my a** if I did not. 

“Lisa?” Josh’s voice broke through the fog, pulling me back to reality. I blinked, realizing both he and Ms. Smith were looking at me with concern.

“Yes, sorry,” I stammered, trying to regain my composure. “It’s just…it’s been a lot to handle,” I confessed. 

Ms. Smith’s expression softened slightly, and she nodded. “I understand. Loss is never easy, and it can affect our performance in ways we don’t always expect. But you need to do better, Lisa. You need to manage your time better and ensure this does not happen agai
