Chapter 96. Corrupted

We arrived at the house in no time. It was already night and the moon could barely be seen. The sky was a bit cloudy but it was slowly clearing up. 

I was not too sure about going to the party but I wanted to go there. I wanted a change, I wanted to try something different for once. So I was hoping that the sky would really clear up and that it would not rain. 

Killing the engine, I removed my seatbelt and opened my side of the car before getting down. Josh had driven his own car while Nora and I had been in mine. And while I had been driving, it had been quiet, but not in the awkward kind of way. 

The door to Josh’s car made a sound as he closed it before soon joining us. It was night but I didn’t see Mark’s car parked outside. That meant that he had gone to work that day. I liked that because since I had caught him with Nora, he had been skipping work a lot.
