“Hey, Lisa,” Josh’s voice was calm, but I could sense the underlying tension. “Are you okay? Did you get any rest?”
“I slept a little,” I replied, glancing back at the closed bedroom door, hoping Bradley would not wake up just yet. “What about you? How are you holding up?” I asked as if I was not the one who was affected the most by everything that had happened.
But this morning, it was not like I was depressed and down, I just felt numb. I just felt that everything that had happened was not real and that I could wake up at any second from this terrible nightmare.
