Chapter 102. More Trauma

Sirens. The sound was so loud and that was all I could hear as I stood out there and watched my best friend being taken away in a body bag. My heart was beating hard and I was now sober, I mean, who wouldn’t after seeing all of this?

“Are you okay?” Josh asked me as he wrapped his arm around me, pulling me close to him. 

What kind of question was that? How did he want me to answer that? Why would he even ask me something like that? After seeing your best friend on the floor, lifeless, would you be okay? After watching her being carried in a body bag, would you be okay?

Instead of replying, I just nodded slowly as I hugged myself and watched the ambulance take Nora away. I knew…I knew already that there was no hope for her. I saw how she was, she was gone.
