Chapter 6
Harry – Mr. Killian (I still didn’t know how to address him) – was in front of me. I still didn’t know where we were going. But he had ordered me to follow him. So, I followed him.
We took the elevator down to my department, and I widened my eyes. I hoped he wasn’t going to accompany me to go take my stuff. I didn’t want people to get the wrong idea. And I knew just how far people’s minds could go and how sharp their tongues could be.
“H-Harry?” I stuttered.
“Why did you stop? Let’s go take your stuff,” he said and my eyes, as impossible as it sounded, got even wider.
“You could just wait here. I’ll take it myself,” I said with a bright smile. But it didn’t work. He frowned at me, then held my elbow and led me to my cubicle. Funny how he knew where it was found.
I stealthily ignored the other’s gazes and picked up my stuff (which consisted of my bag and my phone). I was a pro at this. In my hometown, people looked at you so much that you got used to it.
