Chapter 27

As I leaped up and down on my way to Dominic's room, my heart raced. Despite Dominic's recent indifference to me, I was ecstatic to be with him. I knocked on his door numerous times as soon as I arrived, but when I noticed it was open, I pushed it open, and then a powerful force slammed into me, sending my eyes wide with dread as I lost my footing.

As my head hit the floor, a thump echoed down the corridor, and someone yelled my name before I passed out.

“Thank God you're awake!”

I wasn't surprised to see him because I knew he was the one who had knocked me unconscious earlier. While Dominic worriedly looked at me, I massaged the back of my head to relieve the pain.

“Hello,” I said, but he didn't return my smile. But then again, what did I expect? I rolled my eyes and shifted my gaze away from him.

He said, "Tell me where it hurts."

I shifted my weight to face him. He was looking at me! My heart was racing as I waited for him to take his gaze away
