Chapter 32
SEBASTIAN
Alighting from my car, I take another quick glance at my watch, and at the sight of 4:59 PM, I rush toward the building and push the door open, looking over at everyone seated.
No sight of Loren.
Did she leave already? Was I too late?
It’s a ten-minute drive from the restaurant to Lugo’s, and I could have made it if I wasn’t thinking about Dahlia and that new staff of mine. And now, I might have lost my chance to reconcile things with my manager and get my company…and my life back on track.
Good job, Sebastian.
“Hey, I didn’t think you’d make it on time.” I hear Loren’s sweet feminine voice from behind me, and as she brushes past me to her seat, she taps me on my shoulder with a wink to her eye.
If it was a few days ago, before her confession, I wouldn’t have noticed. But now that I know the reason behind all her gestures, I can’t help but feel… somewhat weird about it.
I follow her to her seat and take mine opposite her.
