DAHLIA
“Yes?” Sebastian asked nonchalantly.
“Mr. Sikowitz is here.”
Aidan. He said he was going to come. Totally forgot about that.
“Oh, right!” Sebastian stood up.
Aidan Sikowitz stepped into the office like he owned the place, or maybe like he could, if he wanted to. He had that effect on a room. The confidence. The easy smirk. The suit probably cost more than my rent.
“Mr. McCoy,” he greeted, extending his hand. “Good to see you again.”
“Likewise,” Sebastian replied, his tone polite but clipped. “You didn’t have to come all the way down here. We could’ve brought the files to you.”
Aidan chuckled, settling into one of the chairs like he belonged there. “Oh, I didn’t mind. Besides…” his eyes flicked briefly to me, “...it’s always nice to see my Dahlia.”
My what now?
