The moment Sebastian said, “Aren’t you going to walk him out?” I knew it wasn’t a suggestion; it was an order.
And an annoyed one at that.
I tried not to sigh. Aidan was already by the door, waiting, that usual infuriating grin tugging at his lips like he knew exactly what he’d done.
The hallway felt colder than the office, and my heart hadn’t stopped racing since Sebastian’s voice hardened back there.
“Why did you do that?” I asked the second the door closed behind us.
Aidan glanced sideways, feigning innocence. “Do what?”
“Don’t start,” I snapped. “You know exactly what I’m talking about. The whole ‘my Dahlia’ thing, the dinner invite, the unnecessary teasing…what was that?”
He chuckled under his breath. “You noticed, huh?”
