“Don’t you have something to say to me?” Her voice was soft, but the accusation in her eyes wasn’t.

Shit! She got me where I had no more escape routes. What do I do now? I swallowed hard. “About what?”

“About you ignoring me since last night,” she said, her tone rising, the frustration finally spilling out. “You didn’t take my calls, you didn’t reply to my texts, you didn’t…” She paused, then picked up again. “You know, at first, I thought maybe you were just… busy. Maybe you aren’t ready to talk about what happened. But then when I saw you at Loren’s place, you couldn’t even look into my eyes…even right now.”

Her fingers were still pressed against my chest. I could feel the tremor in her hand, anger or hurt; I couldn’t tell which.

I forced out a breath. “It wasn’t intentional.”

“Don’t lie to me, Sebastian,” she shot back, eyes glinting. “You’ve been avoiding me since last night. Why? Because Adrian was there? Because he spoke to me?”<
