Diego’s name flashed across my screen just as I was buttoning my cuffs. I was already rounding off for the day.
What a hectic day!
Loren and I have also been avoiding each other like the plague. Not that our fight has any effect on the business anyway. Thanks to that, I’m able to figure out a relationship with her outside work is totally unnecessary.
I bet she’s still angry about Dahlia’s resignation issue… And maybe it’s actually about the picture of Dahlia and me that I sent to her the other night, with that caption that I’m sure made her jealous. Call me petty; I don’t mind. The score is not even yet. I have not been stable at the restaurant, and that makes it even easier to avoid her.
The only reason I haven’t run back home to see Dahlia was because I was waiting on Diego. The call came in just at the right time.
