I feel my heart beating faster inside my chest as I click on his contact before reading the new message.

Jacob: I'll be very happy for you to visit. When you get to the club, tell them I'm waiting for you, and then the bouncers will let you in quickly. I look forward to seeing you again.

I read Jacob's message for the second time, and I feel completely confused at the moment because I've been trying to reach him for several days, and today he decided to answer me as if nothing had happened.

I put my cell phone in my bag and walked out of the room to find Maggie sitting on the sofa. She notices me and turns her head to look at me in surprise.

"I'll take your advice; I'll talk to him," I explain, and she smiles.

"I hope everything between you and him works out quickly. Have a good night and take care of yourself, okay?" I hug her and nod.

I leave the apartment and get into an Uber, which arrives quickly. I text Jacob to let h
