"Mrs. Laura is here," Lisa informed me.
Today, we would be visiting the police department again as advised by the sergeant.
"Good morning, mother," I said to Mrs. Laura as soon as I walked into the living room. She wore a red gown over a black stiletto.
"Good morning, my daughter. Are you set?" She asked with difficulty in her throat.
"Yes, I am," I replied forcing the words out of my mouth weakly.
I was getting sicker by the day.
We drove for a few minutes before jumping out of the car with anxiety printed on our sad faces.
We found the sergeant eating a burger and sipping juice from a straw.
"Sorry, it's my lunchtime." He told us as he dropped the juice pack on the counter.
"Good day sir, you asked that we..."
He interrupted me suddenly.
"Your husband is save you both should stop looking for him." The sergeant said coldly looki
