Chapter 6

Devin’s POV

You are probably wondering about everything since the accident.

Long story short, after I regained consciousness my mom already managed to drag me a bit further away from the street. As it turns out my leg was broken, but otherwise there were only bruises and scratches.

Mom also told me she went back to the car to get our things so we could call help but someone was rummaging around the accident scene which was kind of weird.

So instead of running back to our house, dad, and brother or searching for someone who would take us back home we stayed hidden in the forest next to the wreckage.

As we were sitting there a man came out of the truck and after looking around our crushed car he took out his phone and called someone.

Any normal person in his position would be panicking and probably came out sooner, but still, I hoped he was calling the police or ambulance, anything. What we heard shocked us though.
