Vicky’s POV

[15 years ago]

“Hey, Vick. Are you coming to dinner tonight? Lizzy is doing your favorite. Steaks and mashed potatoes?”

I was running late to the meeting point where Devin was waiting for me, but if I didn’t stop and answer, Aron would get suspicious.

I was barely able to keep our relationship a secret as it was, and I knew people would judge me if they found out about me and Devin.

I was a poor nobody, while he came from a rich family and was popular in school.

And yes I insisted on keeping us a secret for as long as possible.

At least until we finish school.

“I will call you later ok? I have some things to take care of but if I manage you know I would love to come.”

He chuckled at my answer.

“Okay. I know better than to ask what you have planned. So just be careful, please. And call me when you get home.”
