Chapter 3

Vicky’s POV

It’s been a week since our afternoon in the cottage and I have to admit this, but we barely saw each other.

And no, I have no doubts about Devin’s love for me.

I know he comes from a wealthy family and unfortunately, sometimes he has to take care of business and help out his father. Also, he has to spend some time with his brother and other kids from wealthy families.

I understand those things but that does not prevent me from missing him badly.

But today we made a plan to see each other at our cottage and spend the whole day together.

So that’s where I was right now, just waiting for him to arrive.

Suddenly my phone beeped with an incoming text. Guess what? It was from Devin.

“Hey, love. I will be a bit late, my mother needs me to go to the mall for a tuxedo or something for a gala my father is organizing. Something like that. I will also pick out a dress for you because you are coming with me and I won’t take no for an an
