Chapter 16
Our meeting ended professionally. Not well, but not bad either. He told me I'd have his feedback as soon as he finished reading it. Since that was the only thing necessary, I left early and went to bed. The weekend's here, and I can relax.
Wrong.
I couldn't be more uncomfortable with an uneasy presence. Jia and Joshua invited us this weekend to the opening of their new café, J&J. Apparently, Joshua asked Vince, but I should have expected it since we had all been friends since high school. Regardless, a few people came by, and we even helped the staff with the orders since there were more customers than anticipated.
I tried snubbing Vince the whole day as he tried to talk to me. Lisa and Jia read my mind as they tried to help me get Vince to get busy around. When he walked towards me, Lisa or Jia would get in his way and distract him while I ran away or I was busy with customers.
