Louis called me when I returned to the hotel and asked where I was. "Hey. They told me you went home after you passed out. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine. I just needed a rest." Hearing his concern placed me at ease somehow. But my expectations based on my experiences are putting me in doubt, thinking this is all just the beginning.

"You sure? Did you eat lunch? I'll be there in a few minutes."

"You don't need to—" and the call got disconnected.

He's trying hard, which may overwhelm me if this continues. I may be ungrateful or even take advantage of him if we go on. But I keep thinking about whether this overwhelming is a cause of my past relationships or not. And I feel a bit out of space to compare my past to him. It all feels the same. I'm merely waiting for someone to break me again.
