Chapter 17
Friday came by, and I had to meet up with Vince at lunch. I was hungry, so I suggested to meet at a restaurant.
“I didn’t take your suggestion from your feedback, as I always envisioned this as a Victorian setting,” I said as I handed him the revised version of the story. “I don’t want to modernize this story, but I would go into contemporary romance when the time comes.”
“I understand.” He said. “This was included in the email you sent?”
“Yes. And I’ll have to think about the title. I’ll consider your suggestion about the title.”
“Okay.”
We both ate, and I slowly felt comfortable. Something about this felt nice. I guess it’s because I’m finally being able to be comfortable even with him around.
“I missed you.” He suddenly said.
That took me by surprise, and I’m not sure if I responded to it well enough. “Okay?”
He laughed and continued eating.
“I want to ask you something,” I said.
“Have you already asked it?”
“Ha. H
