Chapter 41
I called Jia over, and she brought beers and took out chicken drumsticks from her café. She arrived, and I opened the door.
"I got here as fast as I can," she said.
"She's in her room."
We both sat on the floor and Lisa was hugging her pillow. "I can't believe he broke up with me! I thought he'd finally ask me the question, but he suddenly ended things between us!?" She cried her heart out, and fortunately, we were at home. No one else would hear her unbearable wails of despair.
"What exactly did he say?" I asked.
"He said I'm too good for someone like him and that I deserve better," she cried. "If he thinks I deserve someone better, why couldn't he try to be that someone better!?"
"He's a jerk."
"He's a coward."
"He wants to look like a complete ass."
"He doesn't want a messy closure."
