Chapter 39. Lurking in the Dark

The night was everything from peaceful. It’s growing intolerable to hear the distant dogs’ sporadic barking. Mia arrived home after dark and was too exhausted to pull her aching legs into her room for a relaxing shower. Dave was supposed to accompany her back home, but he opted to stay and work the night instead.

It is stressful and exhausting for her to climb the apartment stairs to reach the fifth level, especially when the elevator is broken and she has nearly used up all of her energy at work. Given the recent events in town that they needed to cover, her work at the Cast News as Dave’s co-director is demanding.

She collapsed on her black leather couch as soon as she walked into the apartment.

Her eyes are heavy that she couldn’t help but doze off.

Working for the Cast News is very tiring as a co-director. They can’t wait for Kelvin, the right owner of the cast news to swift back in town and take up from where he left off before fleeing
