Chapter 48. The Beginning of an Era
SEVERAL MONTHS LATER
It wasn’t a pleasant evening. A ferocious wind blew the rain over the neighborhood because the weather was so chilly and damp. With a forked lightning flash, the thunder roared. Thunder and lightning were in close proximity to one another. Except for Mary Brown, everyone was confined to their flat due to the scary thunder.
