Chapter 11
Lucas’s POV
The never-ending workload at the office was exhausting, to the extent that I wasn’t able to go to the club with Christian as I had promised. My life became even harder when my mother wouldn’t let me be. As soon as I set foot inside the living room, I was bombarded with questions about work and other things. Truth be told, my family is the most dramatic group of people in the world. My mother with her own issues, my father with his, and not to mention my troublemaker sister. As long as I am at home, they won’t let me sleep in peace. I don’t even know why I bought a house when I am not even living in it. Soon, I may have to change my decision, whether my mother agrees or not.
“Lucas, my boy, you’re back,” Mom exclaimed as soon as she saw me.
“Yes, mother. I’m back,” I replied, trying to make my way upstairs. However, my foot came to a halt when she bombarded me with more questions.
