Chapter 23

Jervis was seriously studying documents on his desk when suddenly the window of his study opened and the cold night wind blew in, causing the window curtains to flutter.

His brow furrowed as he looked out the window which showed a view of the side of the house. He was sure he had locked the window some time ago. So how can the wind open it?

Standing up, Jervis went to the window and closed it again. Just finished locking, he felt someone's aura in his room. Someone who is not human. Someone with strength far above him.

Jervis reflexively turned around and his attention was immediately focused on someone who was sitting relaxed on his long sofa. That person looked so arrogant and full of authority but his eyes were gentle when he met Jervis's gaze.

"Sorry to startle you."

Jervis approached the person and then slightly bowed his head in respect. "I didn't expect you to come. Did something happen?"
