Karen's POV:

"Do not turn back. Do not turn back." I kept repeating as I tried hard not to take a look at him.

After a few seconds, I turned back. My instincts would not let me leave him this way.

I quickly searched around for anywhere he could have kept his inhaler and found it after a few seconds.

Running to him, I quickly aided him to inhale. After a few minutes, he fully regained himself. I waited for him to say thank you but it never came.

"We are moving to another town. This place is not safe anymore. It is only a matter of time before someone traces him here." He said, referring to the man from earlier.

"Not even a 'thank you'"? I asked.

"For what?"

"Do not pretend like I just did not save your life." I blurted out.

"I've saved yours too. Too many times." He replied with a scoff.

"Come on, now. We have no time to waste."
