Isabella turned to Chris when they were alone again, “what just happened?”

“I walked her out.” Chris replied, turning around and going back to the kitchen.

Isabella ran after him. “No, not that, I mean about the contract. Did you really terminate it?”

“I told you I would and I can remember I gave Daniel the order in your presence so why are you sounding surprised?” he turned to her when they have both approached the island and raised an eyebrow.

Isabella gulped and averted her gaze, her eyes went to the stove and she found out he had turned it off before coming out to meet them. She licked her lips and whispered, “I didn’t really think you would do it. I thought you were just humoring me yesterday.”

“I don’t humor people with things like that and besides, I don’t see any reason I should.”

“Why is that?”
