Evans's POV
I've been walking for two hours since I decided to accompany Jack to look for some firewood. The girls insisted that we could buy it in town, but both of us declined. We thought that acting like men would help us with the girls, at least I thought so. Jack doesn't seem to share the same belief as me; he's serious and walks as if he doesn't care about anything. Why does it seem like he doesn't enjoy being around the girls? My attempt to get him closer to Fernanda failed; I made countless efforts to bring them together, but they only became friends.
Personally, I think Jack needs a woman who occupies his mind, who drives him crazy. Someone who's always with him and makes him stressed to the max. That way, he might focus only on her and end up falling in love without even realizing it. The one who fits the bill is Alana, and I know it.
