Chapter 62
Jack's POV
I lay down on the uncomfortable couch, unable to fall asleep when the doorbell rang. It seemed strange that someone would come at this late hour. I got up to see who it was, and a tall guy with muscular arms and ice cream in his hands smiled at me.
"You must be Jack. I'm Aiden, and I'm looking for Alana."
"Al's sleeping."
"She told me to come see her," Aiden confesses nonchalantly.
"She's asleep," I repeat. "You might have the wrong chat."
I try to close the door in his face, but he puts his foot to stop it and forces a smile.
"Alana's going to be mad if I don't come up. And I don't think you want to mess things up with her even more."
"Why exactly is she mad?"
"She's a protective sister, and you're a brainless idiot."
