Gaius’ POV
The smell of cigar smoke, w**d, and strong Italian alcohol combine together to give the heady scent that casinos—no matter where they’re located, always seem to be permeated with. The air buzzes with all the sounds of life; low baritone rumbles from high-end businessmen, loud grating guffaws and yowls of gamblers and crackheads, the high-pitched squeals and moans of strippers and barmaids, and finally, the silence of anyone smart enough to keep to themselves in this kind of place.
I learned early that casinos and other edifices of debauchery usually have the same characteristic appearances as well as customers, but still, it disappointed me a little to see that Vegas wasn’t that much different considering how much fame it’s gotten for being the city of casinos.
I expected something more like more of those neon lights that adorned the plastic trees outside could have been well utilized inside the building, particularly the games room, so
