Chapter 16
Savannah
“Good morning, Victors.” I throw my usual smile at him as he enters the office.
Cue the grunts and low-pitched incoherent replies that make me feel less and less human every day, but I’m used to it at this point. I’m heavily under-worked, or at least in my eyes.
I don’t know how much an executive assistant is supposed to do, but I’m sure I’m not scraping a tenth. Having to greet him with his gruff, scanty replies is, to me, some sort of responsibility.
And I’ll do it every single time.
“Hi, Savvy. How was your night?”
“It was wonderful, thank y…”
Wait?
I look up to be sure that it was Victors that said that. He looks a little more well rested than he usually does. The bags under his eyes, though not completely disappeared, have reduced considerably today.
Someone had some terrific sleep yesterday.
