She’d assumed they were doing their usual shady, mafia shit. Realizing they’d been out there searching for answers to her problems without her pissed her off.
She caught the burning glower Leon aimed above her head at Alpha Rhye and knew her giant had intentionally spilled the beans.
Swallowing her ire for the moment, she asked the question she could see they were all wondering. “If this many witches are hunting me here, how much worse will it be there?”
She’d faced steep odds before and come out of perilous situations relatively unscathed, but going to a world where the leaders were essentially all-powerful, wanted her dead, and were more than likely willing to do whatever it took to keep her a secret?
