Chapter 64. Birthday Surprise

Bree’s POV

It’s been a month—a stressful month. My head has been stuck to my book these past two weeks due to exams, but thankfully it is over. I wrote my last paper yesterday, which was Friday.

One last thing to worry about.

Things with Hayden’s dad and I were a little bit better, though I don’t think he has fully accepted me because that would mean giving up on the hotel he plans on acquiring from Sophie’s dad. At least he doesn’t glare at me or make hateful comments towards me, which is kind of like a win.

Today was Saturday, which was also my birthday. I am officially eighteen; that makes me an adult, even though I have no clue how to be one. After a little celebration with my family in the morning, I had planned to spend the remaining day with my friends, but that seemed to have gone down the drain.
