Chapter 46. White Mountain

Maze’s POV

The drive to White Mountain takes a couple of hours. We knew this, but we couldn’t get going sooner than now. Kiara called her parents, and they told her we would just have a late dinner. She also told them that Alastair and Frida came with us, and they didn’t have an issue with that at all.

In the car, Kiara and I share what we have decided about tomorrow evening with them, and they agree it is a good plan. We tell them to keep everything quiet, as we are going to fill in Kiara’s parents ourselves.

The rest of the ride is very comfortable. We make small talk, laugh and discuss Kiara’s old pack. She tells Alastair and Frida about her experience with the pack, and how they bullied her when they found out she didn’t have a wolf and how it continued when it was clear she was a fox shifter. Both Alastair and Frida are livid on Kiara’s behalf, and it is nice to know she has more allies than just me today. I have no illusions, and am sure her old pack w
