Chapter 18. The Announcement

Aria POV

I woke to the sound of music. Valeria had returned and was cleaning. She didn’t know I was back. I opened the door and joined her in the kitchen.

She dropped everything and rushed to me, pulling me into a warm hug.

“Aria, you are back. Are you feeling all right?” She searched my body for injuries. I hugged her and smiled.

“I am fine, Val, don’t worry,” I replied and entered the living room. Valeria followed me as I sat on the sofa.

“How did it happen, Aria? Thank Goddess you are fine,” she whispered, her eyes full of tears.

“It’s a long story, Val. I have something to tell you,” I replied and that stopped Valeria’s bubbling. She looked at me curiously.

“What is it?”

“Tonight, Alpha Jackson will announce my new rank upgrade, Val. He is making me a warrior to thank me for saving Andy,” I blurted and waited for my friend’s reaction.

“Does that mean you will leave our house? And we will not be in touch as we are?” she
