The Crescent Moon pack. In the pack hospital.

“What will we tell Alpha Erick when he asks us? Are we going to tell him the truth?” the rogue with the bandaged head said, touching his wound with a trembling hand.

“Are you out of your mind? What are we going to tell him? That a young woman half our size beat us and saved that brat? The Alpha will humiliate if not kill us,” the second rogue replied.

“What should we say, then?” the first rogue asked.

“That one of the pack warriors was around and fought us. Alpha knows how strong the Opal Moon pack warriors are. No one else was around, anyway. So why not lie and save ourselves?” the second rogue replied, huffing in frustration as he remembered how the young woman fought them and won.

“Yes. That is what we will say when Alpha Erick asks us,” he said more confidently.
