She was not used to being given a choice. The one with the cherry red ribbons made her chestnut hair appear darker and shinier, highlighting it beautifully.
But the one with the sprig of primroses on the rim enhanced the color of her eyes and was so pretty that he couldn't help but smile as she looked at it.
“I can't make up my mind," she sighed.
“Well, take both," Ian told her.
He did not seem the least annoyed to have to wait a long time at the milliner's house, nor to have to pay for three hats, instead of the two initially planned.
“The one with the red ribbons, for the bishop," he advised. He added, to the milliner's attention: “You can throw away the old one.Now, let's look at the crosshairs…”
