My heart was beating erratically as the house came into view. I tried to stall Adrian a bit before we went inside, but he managed to make me move towards the house.

"I sincerely still feel like we should have cleared up that lakeside. I feel bad that you would have to go back to clear it by yourself," I said after a while, just to stall and not go into the house.

"I think I might just leave everything there. You seemed to like it there, and it can be our personal getaway after everything is peaceful again," Adrian said, and I gritted my teeth.
