Chapter 27

Ryder scratched his head because he no longer knew what he was going to do. He didn’t want to lose his wife because of a home, but he couldn’t just be indifferent to Astrid. Honestly, he was upset at Astrid’s presence as much as he was upset about himself.

On his way back to the kitchen, he tried calling my phone number. He couldn’t get through. It seemed like I intentionally turned off my phone, or I blocked his number from calling on my way to meet someone.

He had no choice but to talk to Astrid, because surprisingly, Aurora became very busy with something else. He couldn’t even talk to his nanny properly because she always raised her voice at him earlier.

“Do you need help?” he asked because she seemed struggling with setting the table.

“I’m fine, Ryder. Why don’t you watch TV first then I will call you once I am done?”
