Chapter 32

I've been discreetly observing Xavier and Astrid as they converse in hushed tones, as if they didn't want anyone else to overhear them. When Xavier heads to the counter to buy movie tickets, I initially assume they're just acquaintances. But when Astrid follows him into the theater, my assumptions change.

Though I hadn't planned on watching a movie, I quickly buy a ticket and silently trail behind them. My hat helps conceal my appearance, ensuring they don't realize they're being followed.

As I eavesdrop on their conversation, I hear Xavier's controlled voice inquire, "Have you already decided what to do with our baby?" The hiss of Astrid's response confirms it's not my husband's child she's carrying. I can't help but chuckle at the intriguing turn of events.

"Baby, did you hear me?" Xavier persists.

“Yes, and that's why I am here. I agreed to meet you for the last time, Xavier. Let's just break up," Astrid proposes, leaving Xavier stunned.

"But why?
